Vallejo Oiled Earth Model Wash

Pre-formulated water-based acrylic wash is essential for painting armor, vehicles, planes, ships, figures, and war game figures. Exposure to sun, wind, dust, rain, and snow causes a change in color, loss of intensity, dulling, and general fading on all surfaces. These changes are challenging for model painters to replicate, but washes or filters provide the perfect solution.

Washes are necessary to blend color edges on models painted in various camouflage shades. They can be mixed together to create different shade variations and applied with an airbrush or brush based on the desired effect. Model Wash can also be mixed with pigments to achieve effects like oil and flaked rust, mud, earth, dust, moss, and more. When combined with acrylic colors, washes help simulate heavy wear and weathering.

Formulated with a modified acrylic resin, these washes have a similar superficial tension to traditional solvent-based products, but they offer the advantage of being water-based. The average drying time is approximately 20 minutes, but for multiple wash layers, it's best to wait around 40 minutes between applications. Cleaning painting tools is easy with water.

Each 35ml plastic bottle of pre-formulated water-based acrylic wash features a screw top with a built-in dropper nozzle and flip-top lid. Suitable for all types of armor, the package dimensions are 1.375" L x 1.375" W x 2.875" H.
