Vallejo Olive Green Wash

Model painters often struggle to reproduce changes in color that happen to armor, vehicles, planes, ships, figures, and war game figures when exposed to elements like sun, wind, dust, rain, and snow. The dulling and fading that occurs is not uniform, making it challenging to achieve realistic effects on models. This is where washes and filters come in handy. Washes are essential for blending colors on models painted in various camouflage shades, as well as creating variations in shade. They can be applied with an airbrush or brush, depending on the desired effect. Model Wash can be mixed with pigments to achieve effects like oil and flaked rust, mud, earth, dust, moss, and more. When mixed with acrylic colors, they help simulate heavy wear and weathering. These washes are made with a modified acrylic resin that mimics the surface tension of traditional solvent-based washes, but with the convenience of being water-based. They dry in about 20 minutes, with a recommended 40-minute wait between layers. Cleaning painting tools is easy with water.
